Anderson vII pg534-535 - letter #573

I am sending you herewith the pianoforte arrangement of the symphony in A [Opus 92].  The pianoforte arrangement of the symphony entitled Wellingtons Sieg in der Schlacht von Vittoria [Opus 91] was despatched four weeks ago through the chargé d’affaires Herr Neumann to the House of Thomas Coutts and Co. in London.  Therefore it must have reached you a long time ago.

Furthermore, you will receive in a fortnight the trio and the sonata [Opus 97 and 96].  Whereupon you will kindly pay to Thomas Coutts and Co. the sum of 130 gold ducats.  Please make haste with the publication of these musical compositions and inform me immediately of the day of publication of Wellington’s symphony so that I may take the necessary steps here in accordance with your arrangement.

With kindest regards I remain your most devoted
                                                                          Ludwig van Beethoven
